Terms of Service
Last updated: 17 October 2026
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Lorolingua is provided by [name — to be added], [street — to be added], [postcode and city — to be added], Austria ("we", "us"). These terms apply to the website lorolingua.com, the web app at app.lorolingua.com and the Lorolingua desktop apps (together, "Lorolingua"). By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
2. Closed beta
Lorolingua is in a closed beta: you need an invitation, and everything is free of charge. Features may change, appear or disappear while we develop the app, and the service may be interrupted. We take care of your data, but please keep your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose. We may end the beta; we will tell you in advance by email or in the app.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- An account is for one person. Give a correct email address and keep your password secret; you are responsible for what happens with your account.
- Tell us right away at hola@lorolingua.com if you think someone else has used your account.
4. Your content
The articles and texts you import stay yours. You may only import content that you are allowed to use, and your library is for your own private study — do not use Lorolingua to publish or share content of others. You allow us to store and process your content only as far as needed to run Lorolingua for you (for example to save it, sync it between your devices, and analyse it for the reader). We do not publish it or use it for anything else.
5. Fair use
Please do not:
- use Lorolingua for anything unlawful, or import or write unlawful content;
- access it with bots or scripts, scrape it, or try to get around usage limits or access controls;
- copy, extract or redistribute the dictionaries, language data or models that come with the app, or resell access to Lorolingua;
- disrupt or overload the service or attempt to break its security.
If you break these rules we may suspend or close your account. Except in urgent cases, we will warn you first and listen to you.
6. Translations, dictionaries and the chat
Translations, explanations, level estimates and Chiki's chat replies are produced automatically and can be wrong or incomplete. They help you learn; they are not professional translations or advice. Don't rely on them for legal, medical, financial or other important decisions. Don't use the chat to create harmful content.
7. Third-party content
Lorolingua uses dictionaries, language data and models made by others under open licenses. They are listed with their licenses in the app under Settings → About & Licenses; their licenses apply to them in addition to these terms. Lorolingua itself — the app, its design and texts — remains ours.
8. Prices and paid plans
During the closed beta everything is free. Before any paid plan starts, we will show its price including VAT, what it contains, how it renews and how to cancel it. A paid plan only starts when you order it explicitly; nothing is ever charged automatically from a free account. Your statutory right of withdrawal as a consumer will be explained in the order process.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep Lorolingua available, but we cannot guarantee that it is always reachable or free of errors, especially during the beta. We may change or discontinue features. If we change these terms, we will tell you at least four weeks before the change takes effect; if you do not agree, you can close your account before then.
10. Ending the use
You can stop using Lorolingua at any time and ask us to delete your account at hola@lorolingua.com. We may close accounts as described in section 5, or when the service ends — in that case we will tell you in advance so you can keep copies of your content.
11. Liability
We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, and for personal injury. For slight negligence we are not liable, except where mandatory law — in particular consumer protection law — provides otherwise. We are not responsible for the content you import or for websites of others.
12. Applicable law
Austrian law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you can bring proceedings in the courts of that country.
